Child sessions

I provide occasional sessions for a child who has an acute situation to do with loss or grief - changes within the family or school. By using gentle creative therapies, the real problem comes to the surface and they are able to find solutions, or make positive change and restore joy or gladness. Read more.

SANDPLAY THERAPY often becomes a safe container to find a way through, or transform GRIEF or LOSS.

Sometimes a child is grieving and the child keeps it from the parent/carer because they don't want to worry them. They may be missing a friend who has moved away, or grieving the changes in family dynamics, or the loss of a loved one or pet. Loss of any kind is a type of grief.

"Moments of Noticing". Dragonfly. I was swinging gently on our egg chair in the sunroom and spied this dragonfly on the rug. Gently I gathered it with a tissue and lay it on a leaf on this plant outside the window. It put out its legs to grasp the leaf. A few minutes later it had recovered and flown away.
May you go gently through this festive time and notice little moments of wonder. Blessings. 🙏🪽

Summer magic in the garden. The Flowering Ash Tree in full bloom, Pond and fairies ...

Look for the special moments around you. Nature is full of wonder.

EDIT: The Ash tree has been long associated with wisdom, knowledge and divination - the Ash tree is considered sacred.
It is a symbol of connections and creativity and transitions between the worlds.
Metaphysically it connects us to the past, present and future.
And historically, in North Mythology the Ash tree was depicted as the Tree of Life.

Some time ago I wrote this blog article What's in a Name?
Our given or first name is part of our self-identity. If we don't identify with it, then there is an option to change it legally. Also, the use of surnames only in journalism is not supportive of the actual person. Using a surname only makes the person 'generic'. How do you feel about your own name? Do you like it? Do you identify with it? Do you like being called by your first name?
For me, I choose to be called by my first name and a beloved nickname that family members or some close friends use.
Your name is important to you. Blessings.

Anniversaries can be happy or sad - and if trauma is involved, then they can be tricky.
For so many of us who were hurt decades ago by someone we deeply loved or cared about, anniversaries can be bitter sweet. There is a deep grief carried within. As someone who works with healing of the inner child and healing of the soul/inner spirit, it is something I encounter often with clients.
Be gentle with yourself.
